Patience

Our little friend waited and waited,
looking to fill an empty stomach
while trying to empty a filled up mind,
sitting there patiently for it's ride.
It never came.

There was no choice left,
but to fly back to it's hive.

It
would sit there too,
determined to wait, through and through.
"I'll wait for my friends, to play games in a shoe!"
But... they weren't gonna show.
For all bees must know
you can't, shouldn't, and shan't...
 play in the snow.

Night would come and it would try to sleep
inside an empty honeycomb shell...
but the cold would be too harsh, and make it weep.
Not realizing it had the strength on it's own
to make itself a new home.
It would freeze, tumble, land near stone
and die.
Oh that poor little guy!
Next time
(if it wouldn't have frozen, that is)
it'll know,
you mustn't stare at
 the clouds up high,
A WEEK BEFORE we tell you it's going to snow!
